"The greatest masterpieces were once only pigments on a palette."- Henry Hoskins

You may worry you wont fit in or you wont understand what the instructor is saying when she uses Sanskrit or what direction do you put your mat. We ALL start as beginners and here at NHY we welcome everybody. If you have questions, ask (just not in the middle of class).

Please arrive to class 10-15 minutes early. This will give you time to register (save yourself time and do it now- Click Here) and set up your space.  Let your instructor know if you are pregnant or have any medical conditions that may affect your practice.

We ask that you remove your shoes at the door and turn your phone off. You will find a space inside to leave your shoes and belongings.

After you check in, find a spot for your mat with the small end towards the window wall. Beginners tend to want to hide in the back, but make sure you can see the instructor when they demonstrate a pose. You are welcome and encouraged to take a bolster, blocks, and a strap and keep them and a bottle of water by your mat. You may also enjoy a blanket for svasana, final relaxation pose (pronounced "sha-vasana", look! you are learning Sanskrit already!).

Once you have your space and stuff feel free to have a seat on your mat. You'll find many practitioners warming up by doing some light stretches. Others simply sit quietly. You are welcome to be yourself.

Beginners are always welcome to every class at New Horizons Yoga.
